Prague swimming

Summer doesn't last long in Prague, and when it arrives, you can cool off in one of the city's many pools. Džban is a large reservoir surrounded by grassy beaches. Watch out for the naked section. An added bonus is a huge ramp which snowboarders can jump from in to the lake. The ramp is hosed down and then, whoosh, off you fly into the lake. Whether you participate or just watch, it's very entertaining. Hostivař is a little further out, but they have a brand new volleyball court for rent, a sandy beach, and a treacherous water slide. On the east bank of the Vltava, in Prague 4 - Podolí, this riverside recreational area offers a large beach for bathers unafraid of taking a dip in the river, plus a children's pool. Other attractions include beach volleyball courts, a three-on-three football cage, a climbing wall, table-tennis tables, and a pétanque area. There's also a restaurant and beer garden, a nudist beach, frequent DJ sets and WiFi hotspots throughout. It cost CZK 30 million to transform Zlute Lazne into a multi-functional center for sports and free-time activities for all age groups. It offers superb opportunities for spending free time in one of the most attractive natural areas on the eastern bank of Vltava. Featuring 700 tonnes of imported sand, Prague 5-Smíchov's "First Prague Beach" creates a seaside vibe along the west bank of the Vltava. As well as offering sunseekers a place to top up their tans, there's a giant swimming pool that floats in the river, places to play beach volleyball, badminton and pétanque, and a children's play area.
If you prefer a swimming pool or the weather doesn't cooperate, visit one of Prague's best aqua centers. The swimming pools in Prague are well kept, clean. At most of these places, season passes are also available. One more thing, even if some pools are open for public daily, it is not usually the whole day, parts of may be reserved for swimming lessons, other companies, etc. Na Petynce area features 50 m heated outdoor swimming pool, children’s wading pool, grassy beach, pool water temperature is maintained at 24 DEG C, volleyball, table tennis, snack bar, 100 m toboggan and tennis. The swimming pool is opened daily in season from May till September. For size, accessibility, facilities, and the sheer novelty of being able to swim outside in below freezing temperatures, Podoli can’t be beaten. It offers great facilities for children and the adults joining them: less deep pools, swimming equipment for kids, diving courses, etc. Parents will welcome the sauna or massage centre and cosmetics salon. One of the largest Prague swimming pools, located just under the Vysehrad Castle on riverside. There is one indoor pool and two outdoor pools with padling pool.
